The training of Deck Cadet On successful completion of the Diploma in Nautical Science the pre-sea training is considered where the candidates undertakes the sea phase. On successful completion of phase II the institute will reward the trainee with Advance Diploma in Nautical Science, Trainee is required to undergo 4 months post-sea training in any training institute.
on Successful completion of the training & ‘Passing the exam he will be awarded Certificate of Competency by Director General of Shipping and B.Sc. Degree in Nautical Science. For deck cadet course the candidate must have 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, mathematics with minimum 60% marks in PCM or B.Sc. Graduates with 55% marks in the final year, minimum 50 % marks in English at 10th or 12th level is must. The candidate must be fluent in English speaking.
B TECH Marine Degree Course is a 4 years degree course appropriately approved by director general of shipping, govt. of India. B TECH Marine Degree Course consists of of academics and ship familiarization along with marine workshop training.
After completion of the B TECH Marine Degree Course the candidate go through the four basic STCW courses. The candidate must pass 10+2 or equivalent examination with physics, chemistry, mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60% the candidate must have achieve with minimum of 50% marks in English language at 10th or 12th or in the degree or diploma course conducted by recognized board or any university. The candidates must be 17 to 25 years at the time of joining. Candidates must be physically fit for sea service under standard norms, with better eyesight, and no color blindness. Candidates must go for aptitude and written test. The final selection will only take place after medical check-up through the panel of doctors.
